What are the tips for using humic acid?


Humic acid contains a variety of active functional groups, which can enhance the activity of catalase and polyphenol oxidase in crops, stimulate physiological metabolism, and promote growth and development. For example, humic acid can promote early seed germination, and the rate of emergence is high, especially at low temperatures. It can stimulate the division and growth of root extremes of the root tissue cells, make the seedling root quickly, increase the root quantity, extend the root system, and increase the ability of the crop to absorb water and nutrient. So what are the tips for using humic acid?


1. Humic acid can be used in combination with chemical fertilizer and inorganic water-soluble fertilizer to reduce 10%~20% of conventional dosage of chemical fertilizer and inorganic water-soluble fertilizer.

2.  Humic acid encountered calcium and magnesium ion in the water will produce flocculation, in order to prevent clogging drip holewhen drip humic acid fertilizer, we should minimize drip irrigation time, do it in small amounts multiple times while ensuring adequate dilution.



3.  Humic acid is black or dark brown. If the concentration is too high or the degree of atomization is poor, it often leaves black spots on the fruit and leaf surface after the water evaporation. If this is found during picking, rinse with water.


4.  Although humic acid can be used in the whole growth period of crops, for economic reasons, it is suggested that two times can be applied in 4 key periods of crop transplanting, pre flower, expansion and color conversion, and the effect of combined spraying will be better in the period of expansion and color conversion.


5.  According to the regulations of the Ministry of Agriculture's "Standard for Water-Soluble Fertilizers Containing Humic Acid," the raw material of humic acid must be a mineral source. There are two ways to identify mineral sources or biochemical humic acids:

Smell: mineral source humic acid is tasteless, biochemical humic acid will have different aroma and molasses flavor according to different sources.

Color discrimination: mineral source humic acid is mostly black, biochemical humic acid is brown.
