Relationship Between Humus, Humic Acid And Fulvic Acid
Nov 29, 2018

Relationship between humus, humic acid and fulvic acid

Humus is a colloidal substance that is converted into organic matter by microbial decomposition. The humus is composed of humin, humic acid and fulvic acid. Humin acid and fulvic acid are the main components of humic acid.

Humic acid is an organic mixture of plant residues that undergo complex chemical, biodegradation, and synthesis reactions with the participation of microorganisms. Since the humic acid molecule has various functional groups such as a carboxyl group, methoxy group, phenolic hydroxyl group and so on, these functional groups determine the properties of the humic acid, such as acidity, hydrophilicity, ion exchange property.

The fulvic acid is a water-soluble part of humic acid. Due to its small molecular weight, it is soluble in water, acid and alkali solution. It is widely used in industrial, agricultural, medical and animal husbandry field.
